Creating your Future is
an Exact Science
© 2000 June McHardy
I recently rediscovered a book which I read many years ago. It's called "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles written in 1910. When I read it originally, I'll admit that there were many statements which I doubted - or else had to take on complete faith.
This new reading however, pointed out to me that the principles he used in this book 90 years ago are universal and are as true today as they were back then. They are the same basic principles that Deepak Chopra explains in "How to know God" and that Wayne Dyer talks about in "Manifest your Destiny".
In all cases they are speaking
about using the Natural Laws of the Universe to manifest our own future -
notwithstanding whether our dreams and goals include getting rich. In actual
fact, the same principles can be applied to anything which is important to us -
changing from illness to wellness, creating wonderful relationships, getting a
new job, or enjoying peace and joy in our lives.
Wattles gives us some principles to
use when making this commitment to improving our lives. He asks us to take them
on faith even though they may not make intellectual sense to us just yet. Here
in the rather ponderous words of his time are those principles:
There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.
A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.
A person can form things in his thoughts, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created. In order to do this a person must pass from the competitive to the creative mind.
A person may come into full harmony with the formless substance by entertaining a lively and sincere gratitude for the blessings it bestows upon him.
A person must form a clear and definite mental image of the things he wishes to have, to do or to become and he must hold this mental image in his thoughts with frequent contemplation, unwavering faith and sincere gratitude.
In order to receive his good when it is ready, he must more than fill his present space - He must do, every day, all that can be done that day. He must give to every person a use value in excess of the cash value he receives, so that each transaction makes for more life for himself and for all with whom he comes in contact.
...and the riches which they receive will be in exact proportion to their vision, the fixity of their purpose, the steadiness of their faith and the depth of their gratitude.

"The grateful mind is constantly fixed
upon the best. Therefore it tends to become the best. It takes the form or
character of the best, and will receive the best."
